Goodbye Sony A100 Hello Sony A200
January 7, 2008
Sony fanboy bulletin boards have been chattering about this for weeks. Now it’s official. Sony have just announced their first obsolete DSLR - the A100 which they introduced in mid 2006 is being retired and replaced by the imaginatively named A200.
Sony DSC-S730 - first new camera of the new year?
December 31, 2007

Just a day or so of 2007 left and Sony may just have announced the “first” camera of 2008. Like a lot of the ‘07 cameras it will ship with 7 million pixels there’s also a 3X zoom and a 2.4″ LCD. Predictably, the press release also goes on about “unrivaled low light capability” (ISO 1250) and since it’s a Sony release “shooting stamina” (up to 440 pics per battery charge). You’d really think there’s nothing special about it. Until you see the price.
