Portrait photography can be indoors in a studio setting or outside in natural light. You can also take full body shots, half body or head anf shoulder shots. It is important to plan your shoot before actually getting into it.

When the location has been decided you should establish what source of lighting is available and from which direction it will be coming, or do you need to provide your own lighting. From there you can determine what camera is best suited, which lenses to bring and what other props are required.

So you have now scoped out the scene, gathered your equipment and are raring to go.

Adding textures to sketches has proven to be an invaluable technique in the fashion design industry since the introduction of Photoshop. Rather than having to physically produce a prototype garment to see how certain fabrics may look (or worse still, imagining how it would appear) designers can scan in their sketches and in a few minutes add several different fabric textures. Fashion photography is not as easy as it looks. Many men dream of going into this field so they can mingle with beautiful models and take photographs of them. This is not what fashion photography is about. Fashion photography is an art form. The models may be lovely, but they can only look as good as the fashion photographer makes them out to be.
