Nikon extends their cashback for the D40X

Another one of those posts where the title says it all… If you bought a D40, D40X or D80 between 1st November 2007 and 7th January 2008 then you could get some money back. Well, Nikon have extended this (though reduced the number of cameras in the scheme). Buy a D40X with a “qualifying” lens between 7th January 2008 and 29th February 2008 and you’ll get £40 back from Nikon.
Sigma 18 - 200 will now work on the Nikon D40!

Buyers of the otherwise fantastic Nikon D40 have always felt a bit short changed in the lens department. One of Nikon’s key decisions was to save weight and money by dropping the old AF-D mount. The D40 can only use lenses with an AF-S mount. Until now this has limited users to mostly Nikon brand lenses.

If you’re planning on getting a DSLR for Christmas then a D40 is a great choice - but not if you want to use 3rd party lenses. Until now.
